Since the year 1900, Colorado death records are stored at the Colorado Department of Health and Environment’s Vital Records Section. It is possible to obtain a birth certificate in Colorado with ease. You can either visit this office during weekdays between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm or request through telephone. You can also send in your request for death certificate online.

If you want to obtain a death certificate through the Colorado death records section, it is essential having a proof of documentation and proof of relationship. Forms can be downloaded online and you must fill and mail the form back. This form must be attached with a money order or personal check along with vital documents such as copy of a picture ID issued by the government to the Vital Records section.

2005 statistics show that the number of adult deaths this year was 199348 or 637.6 every 100,000 people and infant deaths numbered 427 or 6.23 per 100,000 people. The year 2004 showed number of adult deaths at 28309 and infant deaths at 434.

In order to access the Colorado death records section and obtain the first copy of a death certificate, you must pay a fee of $17.75. For another payment of $10, it is possible to obtain further copies. Fee is not accepted by cash and is non-refundable.
