Fees cost from $10 to lookup Connecticut death records. A personal check or money order should be made payable to Vital Records Section. However you should phone (860) 509-7700 to verify fees. If you are a resident of Connecticut, it is not very difficult accessing Connecticut death certificates. Records of any death filed after 1st July 1897 can be found here and you can have unrestricted access to the same.

It is however necessary for the written request to be made by an immediate family member. If you are a resident of this state wanting access to death records before 1897, you must contact the town clerk in the city where the death occurred.

The year 2005 in Connecticut saw adult death rate of 860.6 per 100,000 people with the deaths numbering 207932. Infant deaths numbered 229 at the rate of 3.44 per 100,000.

If you want a Connecticut death papers certified by the state, you must fill in the certificate and mail it to the Connecticut Department of Public Health’s Vital Records Section along with check or money order. If you apply to the state for a death certificate you will have to pay a fee of $15 and if you want access to a death certificate from the city, then you have to pay $10 towards this.

In order to access the Connecticut death records and obtain a death certificate, it is necessary to include documents such as the deceased’s legal interest and proof of relationship along with other vital information pertaining to the dead person such as date of birth, date of death, name of parents, race, country and reason for the request.
