Information about Connecticut
Constitution State

Capital: Hartford

Holding the highest per capita income and median household in the country, Connecticut has long been known for its wealth. With easy access to both New York City as well as Boston, this state is a popular location for the commuting work force.

It is the fourth most densely populated state in the nation, with a population of around 3.4 million. The prosperity from insurance companies and hedge funds located within the state makes Connecticut one of the most lavish places in the New England area.

Connecticut has been a 'first' for a few notable events, including being the first to issue car insurance, introducing the first law school in the US, and publishing the first phonebook. Eli Whitney patented the first cotton mill in Connecticut, and the first artificial heart was invented by a Connecticut native.

The state is also home to many well-known headquarters, including the World Wrestling Federation, Xerox, Ethan Allen, and Remington.
