Information about Florida
The Sunshine State

Capital: Tallahassee

Unquestionably, Florida is one of the most popular vacation destinations in America; Disney World, Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, and the Florida keys are only a few examples of the many attractions offered in this sensibly named, Sunshine State.

It has been said that Florida may edge past New York in 2011 and take the title for the third most populous state; the subtropical climate, low cost of living and tourism has led to an increase in population over the years.

Tourism is the state's number one sector in its economy.

Florida's hurricane record has not been the most promising factor for the state. Being the most hurricane-prone state in the nation, Floridians are constantly monitoring hurricane activity from June 1st to November 30th of each year. 2004 was a devastating year for Florida, as it was hit by four record hurricanes, costing the state billions of dollars in loss and damages.
