It costs $5 to lookup a copy, certified copies are not available from state office.

Illinois is one of the largest states in the United States. Chicago in Illinois is the third most populated city in the country. The Capital city Springfield is popular for Lake Springfield, which is a large man made lake.

The divorce rate is relatively lower in the state of Illinois. According to a survey taken in 2001, the divorce rate is 3 per 1000 people. The Vital records division of the Illinois Department of Health is not responsible for issuing certified copy of Illinois divorce records. Divorce certificates can be obtained only from the Circuit Court Clerk in the county, in which the divorce was granted.

A certified copy of Illinois divorce papers is available to the registrants, their immediate family members or the legal representatives. The applicant needs to specify the name of husband and wife, their parents’ name, date and place in which the divorce was granted , the applicant’s relationship to the registrants, purpose of request, address of the applicant, his/her telephone number and a copy of valid photo ID card. He/she should send the fee amount by check or money order. If he/she wants to make order for the certified copy of divorce record by fax, he/she needs to provide the credit card details like number and expiration date.
