The state officially started to register these events from 1st July 1880 and today the Bureau of Vital Statistics is the one-stop shop to obtain documents like Iowa divorce papers.

The Department of Public Health is located in the city of Des Moines which is also the capital of the state of Iowa. All records applied for including divorce certificates do carry a certain fee. As of today the administrative processing fee for most certificated is $15. Different certified copies might have different charges and processing time. All certificates can be applied for over the phone, mail, online and in person.
