The center has Kansas Marriage records since May 1913.

It costs $15 for obtaining a Kansas marriage certificate.

Kansas State law authorizes the issuance of certified copies of vital records like Kansas marriage records. Uncertified copies or verifications will not be provided to the public unless they have legal proof establishing a connection to the record they seek.

In order to obtain Kansas marriage papers one has to remit a $15.00 fee. This fee goes towards a five-year record search – if the records is found then one certified copy is issued else the fee is retained. In case no record is found, the seeker will be sent intimation that there was no record from the search conducted.

Marriage certificates are filed with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE). The KDHE officially started maintaining these records with this office from 1st May, 1913. At the country district court level marriage information is open to the public. In order to apply for a marriage license, one needs to apply with the County Clerk of the District Court in the county where the marriage license was issued. The District Courts provides updated records to the Office of Vital Statistic every month by forwarding the completed licenses to them. If one needs to access these records then certified copies are usually available by the second month after the original marriage date and registration.
