Louisiana Death Records LA:

Louisiana Public Info

The state of Louisiana is bordered by Texas to its west, Arkansas to its north, the state of Mississippi to its east and down below we have the Gulf of Mexico. The state has an overall subtropical humid climate. It is also termed as the only state which matches closest to all three terms. The climate of this state is greatly influenced by the Gulf of Mexico which is bordering it from the southern part.

Since most of the state of Louisiana is under the Roman Catholic Church, the registers used to be the only source of records for the people. But now there are two ways by which you can access the Louisiana death certificates. The first is by the Louisiana Department of Health. From the year 1990 this department has taken the rights to own and refresh the death records which are handled by the parishes in the state.

The other source of death records is online. It is known as the Louisiana death records database. They hold the death records from the past 50 years and in cases of some specific parishes like the Orleans or the Jefferson parish, they have death records that date back to 1850. The charge for ordering a certified copy of a death record is $5.00 USD.
