Being the 8th most populated state in the United States of America, Michigan is also known as the state of lakes. Surrounded by five great lakes and made up of many in-land lakes, Michigan boasts of the largest freshwater shoreline in the world.

If one is planning to get married in Michigan, they need to be first registered with the Michigan Marriage records. This is very essential as the registration for the natives of the state is just about $20. Plus one need not be a resident of the state to get married in Michigan. A non-resident of Michigan can get married in the state; however their marriage registration will cost something more than $20.
