Information about Montana
Treasure State

Capital: Helena

Montana is a state which contains a variety of mountain ranges, hence its name’s origin from the Spanish word montaña, meaning mountain. It is home to Glacier National Park and three out of the five entrances to Yellowstone. It is at Glacier National Park that the state’s triple divide permits water to flow into three different oceans: the Pacific, Atlantic and the Arctic. Like many western states, Montana draws many visitors due to its vast landscape and outdoor recreational activities.

Despite the amount of land that Montana has, it is quite small and dispersed in terms of population. Not even to the one million mark, Montana ranks 44th in population. However, it does have the largest population of grizzly bears in the lower 48 states.

A few notable movies that took place in Montana were Brad Pitt’s ‘A River Runs Through It’ and ‘Legends of the Fall’, as well as the Kevin Bacon and Meryl Streep thriller, ‘The River Wild’.
