Marriage Records Ohio OH:

Ohio Public Info

Ohio marriage certificates are maintained by the Ohio department of health, office of vital statistics. Marriage records from January 1st, 1954 to present are recorded and stored away systematically. Ohio marriage laws state that the fee for obtaining the marriage license is over $50 but this is variable and depends on the county. Payment can be made only in cash or through a money order. Incase both are residents of Ohio, they can obtain their marriage license from the town clerk. If one of the partners is a resident of the country, then the town clerk of that resident has to issue the marriage certificate. In spite of this, the license is valid state wide. Incase neither of the partners are residents of Ohio; they have to obtain their marriage license from the county where the marriage ceremony is going to be held.

There is no waiting period to obtain the license and one can marry as soon as their license is issued. The office of vital statistics does not issue marriage license. It is issued by the probate court or the clerks of the court. Ohio marriage papers are available online also and those searching for records can make use of this facility.
