Information about Utah
Beehive State

Capital: Salt Lake City

Utah is home to a plethora of activities, most being particularly interesting to the outdoor enthusiasts. This western state claims to have the ‘greatest snow on earth’, due to the light and dry lake effect snow from the Great Salt Lake in the northern part of Utah. Along with snow activities, Utah is home to five National Parks, numerous golf courses, prime locations for mountain biking, and cool waters for river rafting, making it a four-season destination.

In 2008, Utah was the fastest growing state in the nation with a current population of almost 2.8 million. Most of these residents are Mormons, with these members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints making up roughly 40% of Salt Lake City, with rural areas even more.

Aside from outdoor activities, Utah also has many cultural attractions, including the celebrity strewn Sundance Festival held annually in Park City and the entertaining Utah Shakespearean Festival.
