Wisconsin Public Info

Wisconsin is situated in the north-central United States. It is bordered by Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. The climate of Wisconsin is classified as humid continental. Wisconsin’s capital is Madison.

In Wisconsin all the vital records are preserved by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Right from 1852, Wisconsin had directed its entire counties to record births. Again in 1878 a similar law was passed. But The State Bureau of Vital Statistics got established only in 1907. Unlike other states, Wisconsin death records are available from the earliest.

To obtain Wisconsin death papers, there is a certain amount of fee that is applicable, and an additional charge per extra copy if requested at the same time. You can apply in 3 basic ways including, in person, by mail or by fax. Requests through website, e mail or by phone or not accepted. Photo proof is mandatory for applying, and also a valid signature on the application form is required. Expedite service is also available for an extra charge.

A certified Wisconsin death certificate would have a raised seal, showing the signature of the State Registrar which is printed on a security paper. But according to state laws the certified copy if death certificate is issued only to those people who have direct relation with the subject, or have a written authorization.
