Information about Wyoming
Equality State

Capital: Cheyenne

With only 544,000 residents calling Wyoming their home, it makes it the least populated state in the nation, despite being the tenth largest. Once originally inhabited by Native Americans, it was overtaken by white settlers and the population continued to grow after the completion of the Union Pacific Railroad. Soon after, Yellowstone National Park was discovered and in turn became the nation’s first National Park in 1872.

It’s important to note that Wyoming leads the country in coal production and is also a large producer of natural gas and crude oil, although there isn’t much else contributing to the gross state product aside from tourism which accounts for annual revenue of roughly $2 billion.

The term Wyomingites is given to residents of the state, and some famous ones include Matthew Fox, Dick Cheney and Buffalo Bill. Wyoming is one of few states which actually has a state dinosaur, and theirs is Triceratops.
